Persephone, daughter of Zeus and Demeter (the goddess of the harvest) was a young woman of astonishing beauty: although born of the gods, she lived away from Mount Olympus, preferring instead to be a goddess within Nature before the days of planting seeds and nurturing plants. Picking flowers in a field one day with three nymphs, she was abducted by Hades, who burst up through a cleft in the earth and stole the girl away to his Underworld realm. Only Helios, the sun, saw the abduction, and it was he who finally informed the depressed Demeter, desperately searching for her lost daughter.
With Demeters sadness at the loss of her daughter came the loss of the harvest: the earth was dying, and finally Zeus himself forced Hades to return Persephone. But beneath the dying ground, Persephone had eaten six pomegranate seeds, which bound her to return to the Underworld six months a year: one month for each seed. Thus the seasons were born; spring ruled the earth for half the year when Persephone returned above ground, and winter the other half while she remained with Hades. A dual-sided woman who showed innocence and a love for nature above ground and a powerful, strong aspect as the Queen of Hades, Persephone is pictured on the front of the pendant, gently cupping a pomegranate ripe from the tree. Her smile displays her knowledge of both the spring and winter seasons of the earth and human heart, and reminds us that we are dual-sided creatures with the capacity for both strength and love in equal balance. Her work exemplifies a multitude of skills used in jewelry making and leaves the viewer breathless. Her complicated designs that focus on story-telling, are best appreciated in full view. I'm just amazed.
The body is it some other stone or is it perhaps enamel? The effect is amazing.

However it would be nice to know what the materials are. I had a quick peek at your website, but it doesn't say what it is there either.
For example, that gorgeous looking background, is it stone, wood, enamel or something else entirely? Is the figure bone or enamel? I'm assuming the metals are silver with gold for the flowers and that stone looks like it's probably a garnet....
