The Lady of the Lake is one of the most famous, and most mysterious, woman in all of ancient Britian's long history. She has been called by many names: High Priestess of Avalon, Vivaine, and Nimue, to name a few. A woman of great power, spirituality, and magic, the Lake of the Lake was a pivotal force in bringing about the golden age of Camelot. In an age centered heavily around knights and war, both the Lady and Queen Gweneviere was responsible for bringing the power of the feminine to balance the masculine and creating an age founded on harmony and union.
The Lady of the Lake understood the sacred balance between both the masculine and the feminine: she provided Arthur with his famous sword Excalibur, enabling him to win his kingship, and also raised the young Lancelot after the death of his father, with the nurturing love of a mother. Shown here astride her white steed, she lifts high Excalibur, preparing to present it to Arthur. The graceful swan floats beside her in the lake, symbolizing the transformation that will occur because of this pivotal gift... the creation of Camelot, founded upon Arthur, Excalibur, and his Queen.

I really LOVE the double-strands attached to the pendant accented with the stones. It makes it look more--more something--more regal? more ancient? I don't know but it really speaks to me. Thanks for another great piece!
King Arthur: I am your king. Woman: Well I didn't vote for you. King Arthur: You don't vote for kings. Woman: Well how'd you become king then? *Angelic music plays...* King Arthur: The Lady of the Lake, her arm clad in the purest shimmering samite held aloft Excalibur from the bosom of the water, signifying by divine providence that I, Arthur, was to carry Excalibur. THAT is why I am your king. Dennis: Listen, strange women lyin' in ponds distributin' swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony. - Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
Is it silver? Platinum? Golden accents for sword, swan beak, and hair? Was all of the etching done by hand? Are the beads real pearls? The blue gems; what are they?
