Egyptian Scarab Ring

Handmade from sterling silver and 18k gold, the Egyptian Scarab Ring shows two winged scarab beetles mirrored on either side of a stunning turquoise stone.  Ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics encircle the silver band, spelling out the ancient Egyptian word Benu, or phoenix. Related to the verb weben, meaning “to rise in brilliance,” the Benu bird was said to have flown over the darkness before original creation. The Benu lived for five hundred years before building a nest of flaming boughs and spices and arising anew from the ashes: a living symbol of rebirth and new life.  The ring measures 0.75" tall.
