This is the first piece of jewelry I ever designed and crafted, during my very first metalsmithing course in Florence, Italy. I based the design of the letter "K" around Art Nouveau (my favorite time in art history), adding the flourishes and organic touches of nature so typical of that genre. A lily of the valley, symbolizing regrowth and rebirth, blooms in the lower left corner. I hand-saw these initial pendants in all the letters of the alphabet.
